Residential
Single-family homes, townhouses, apartments and condominiums require skills that cover heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection and more. It is an ever-growing segment of the overall construction industry. Millions of new housing units are constructed every year, and opportunities in this sector are increasing for UA members. The UA continues to make inroads into this sector, providing more opportunities for members.
Residential construction encompasses single-family homes, high-rise apartments and condominiums, and duplexes, triplexes and quadriplexes. UA members working in the residential sector include Plumbers, HVAC Service Technicians, Sprinkler Fitters, and Pipefitters. These members install heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, gas lines, fire protection, plumbing systems and much more. Our members also service and maintain all of these systems once they are completed. Home buyers are also increasingly interested in sustainability and green technologies. UA members are specifically trained in these areas, making them more competitive in the marketplace.
