Become an
Apprentice

In 1936, The United Association’s joint apprenticeship program was the first nationally registered program recognized by the Department of Labor in the United States. Over the many decades since, UA training has evolved into a sophisticated and comprehensive program of classroom, workshop and on-the-job training. This high-tech, cutting edge training ensures that apprentices who complete the five-year program will have a career path that provides good wages, generous benefits, as well as opportunities that range from project management to owning their own business.

UA Apprenticeship

In the UA’s apprenticeship program, you can earn while you learn. A traditional two or four year college education will burden you with thousands of dollars in tuition debt.

No tuition debt at the end of this program! Rather, at the UA’s apprenticeship program, you will earn a competitive wage while you acquire the skills and certifications that will make you a highly employable professional tradesperson.

Upon completing a UA apprenticeship, you will be able to obtain a high paying job, invaluable certifications and earn college credits.

Our apprenticeship training program includes:

  • 2,000 hours of on-the-job training per year
  • 216 hours of related classroom instruction
  • Core courses: Safety, Plan Reading and Design, Math, Science, Use and Care of Tools
