Build Stronger Together is a groundbreaking program developed by the United Association International Training Fund (UA ITF) to promote safety, productivity and workplace professionalism across UA jobsites.
This initiative empowers UA Locals to foster a culture of respect, collaboration and excellence for every member by providing comprehensive resources and interactive training.
Comprehensive Anti-Harassment and Respectful Workplace Training
As part of Build Stronger Together, all UA-affiliated Registered Apprenticeship Programs are required to provide anti-harassment training to every individual connected to the program — including all apprentices and journeymen who regularly work with apprentices.
Unlike passive information sessions, this training is highly participatory, ensuring every trainee is actively engaged and prepared to help create a harassment-free workplace.
Courses
Build Stronger Together: Leadership and Respectful Workplace Training
Duration: 4.0 hours
This essential course is designed for those in leadership roles — such as foremen, instructors and supervisors — equipping them with the knowledge and skills to identify and address discrimination, harassment, bullying and hazing on the job.
The training explores how these negative behaviors impact safety, productivity and legal liability, using real-life case studies to illustrate financial and operational consequences.
Key topics include:
• Recognizing and addressing unconscious bias.
• Understanding the financial outcomes of litigated harassment and discrimination cases.
• Building a respectful, inclusive workplace where everyone can work safely and productively.
• Practicing bystander intervention techniques through real-world scenario exercises.
Participants leave this course with actionable strategies to foster a positive jobsite culture and proactively address negative behaviors.
Train-the-Trainer:
Respectful Workplace Training
Duration: 4.0 hours
Prerequisite: Completion of the Leadership and Respectful Workplace Training
This intensive session prepares eligible participants to deliver the Build Stronger Together Respectful Workplace Training to others.
Attendees gain a deep understanding of the theory behind the program and receive hands-on practice teaching the material, ensuring they are ready to train future leaders and members in respectful workplace practices.
