In 2018, Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 56, Halifax, NS, members and Atlantic Mechanical Contractors, proudly took on the full renovation of a historic building—the old Labor and Advanced Technology Building on Terminal Road in Halifax. The building was purchased by Emera, the parent company of Nova Scotia Power. The historic building was gutted and updated with new plumbing, heating, cooling, and fire suppression equipment. A new office building was also completed by Local 56 members in 2019.
