Safe and Secure Energy—For Today And Tomorrow
In the United Association, we believe that an economy built to last must make the most of North America’s energy resources. It must be fueled by homegrown and alternative energy sources that include nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, emerging and alternative sources such as geothermal and solar, as well as hydroelectric generation.
The United Association, through our skilled union piping professionals, extensive training programs, and political and legislative influence, has the ability to assist end users and contractors in crafting the advanced energy infrastructure that is crucial to the future.
The Energy Department functions at the national, state and local levels to facilitate the construction process. We begin by working with contractors and end users to address regulatory and permitting issues, thus allowing the project to move from concept to reality. When the UA works in partnership with contractors, owners and the community during preliminary planning, the foundation is laid for the project’s ultimate success. This includes all aspects, from meeting with local elected officials and attendance at public hearings, to consulting with owners and contractors to evaluate manpower needs and the unique requirements of each project. Once this phase is complete, the UA works with the end user and contractors on job specific training, manpower supply, pre-fabrication/modularization, and all other components of construction. When the job is completed, the UA continues to supply the skilled tradespeople and expertise to successfully maintain and upgrade the facility.
Our abundance of energy—and the cutting edge technology being developed to harness it—is enabling North America to once again lead the world in manufacturing, research and development, and innovation. The United Association’s role in this effort will be critical for generations to come.
