Plumbers Local 98, Detroit, along with Detroit Piping Group, purchased 70 Lefty’s Cheesesteak sandwiches for frontline emergency room workers at the Main Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. It was a great boost for the employees, who are doing an amazingly difficult task in battling COVID-19. Local 98 Business Manager Carlo Castiglione said, “They couldn’t have been more appreciative of us, and I made sure I told them how thankful we were for them. Supervisor (ER, OR and Mobile Radiology) Sandra Kinner informed me that everything went great and included a note and some pictures for us.” Her note reads:
“Hello (UA) Local 98 & DPG, I just want to say thank you again for lunch and for thinking about us. Unfortunately, we lose sight and sometimes there are just not enough words to get the teams moving again. Knowing there are still wonderful people like Plumbers Union 98 and Detroit Piping Group that truly care, means the world to them. So, a big THANK YOU for being our heroes!”
